Unit Manager for the Rural Unit

We are now looking for

A Unit Manager for the Rural Unit, which is one of four units in the Department of Animals, Rural Affairs, and Food.

About the unit

The Rural Unit consists of three groups: the processing group, the advisory group, and the administrative group. The unit has many different assignments and tasks to perform, of which the larger tasks relate to EU project and investment support, advice within competence development projects, and as expert support in the field of rural areas and agriculture.

The unit is tasked with administering EU project and investment support in the county and creating opportunities for entrepreneurship, work, and housing in rural areas. The unit is also tasked with working to implement the national and regional food strategy.

In addition, the unit is responsible for administering and driving the County Administrative Board's competence development projects within Greppa Näringen, A Rich Cultivation Landscape, Meadow and Pasture Project, Meadow and Pasture Inventory, Creating New Jobs, Ecological Production, and other projects related to the food strategy.

Your tasks

As a unit manager with us, you are responsible for the unit's economy, personnel, and operations. You work from a trust-based leadership approach with clarity in the role as an employer. The leadership is also characterized by engagement, security, pedagogy, and good communication skills.

You have two coordinators as your support in the working groups and in the subject matters. You lead, drive, and develop the operations, groups, and group processes for the authority's best and are responsible for ensuring that the unit's work is carried out with good quality and efficiently.

Together with your managerial colleagues in the management group for the Department of Animals, Rural Affairs, and Food, you also contribute to the strategic work of developing the entire department's area of operations.

The unit has a lot of collaboration with various actors in the industry and nationally with other County Administrative Boards and authorities. The unit manager is responsible for this collaboration, either personally or through their employees.

Requirements for the position:

We are looking for someone with managerial experience and experience in working with and developing groups and group processes. You have experience leading change work.

You have an academic education in a relevant field for the managerial position.

You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

As the unit administers a complex economy, with several funding sources and project accounts, you have good knowledge of financial management.

Swedish citizenship is required, but you may have a foreign background.

Meritorious

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience working with EU support, rural development, or equivalent
